Memory Care Initiatives – Support

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group (in-person)

Our Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group meets the fourth Friday of each month from 6-7:30 PM in the Holz Pavilion Chapel, located at 314 E. Village Ct., Dousman.  An Alzheimer's caregiver support group serves as a lifeline for those navigating the emotional and practical challenges of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease. Within these groups, caregivers find a compassionate community where they can share experiences, exchange valuable advice, and gain emotional support. The group provides a safe space for discussing the unique difficulties of caregiving. By connecting with others who understand their struggles firsthand, caregivers often find renewed strength, practical coping strategies, and a sense of solidarity that helps them navigate their demanding roles with greater resilience and hope.

Memory Screenings

Three Pillars is proud to be part of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America’s Memory Screening Program. A memory screening is a simple and safe evaluation tool that checks memory and other thinking skills. It can indicate whether an additional check-up by a qualified healthcare professional is needed. The face-to-face screening takes place in a private setting; only the individual being tested, and the screener are present. A screening consists of a series of questions and/or tasks designed to test memory, language skills, thinking ability, and other intellectual functions. The person who administers the screening will review the results with the person being screened and suggest whether the person should follow up with a physician or other clinician for more extensive testing.

Results of the memory screenings are confidential. The participant will receive the screening results to bring to a healthcare professional for follow-up and/or inclusion in medical files. To set up an appointment please contact Jen Graf, Director of Dementia Programming at 262-965-7133 or jgraf@threepillars.org.
