Retired foreign language teachers Susanne and Bill Gay have combined their passion for Christmas, travel, and cultural traditions to explore the many artistic representations of Christ’s birth. Though they never intended to become “collectors,” over the past 35 years, they gradually acquired over 900 Nativity sets from around the world—through purchases, family gifts, and their involvement with the International Friends of the Crèche.
In this presentation, Susanne and Bill will share their knowledge of Nativity history and discuss how different countries portray the Nativity story. The session includes a video, created by an Emmy-winning videographer, followed by an open Q&A session.
