1977
The Home applied for Medicaid certification. Several residents would be eligible for SSI (Supplemental Security Income), state, and county medical assistance. This is the trend among like facilities. The government programs do not always cover the actual expenses in providing the necessary services.
1978
The Home officially becomes a part of the Village of Dousman.
1980
The Village of Dousman begins to supply water to the Home. An adequate reliable supply of water would now be available.
This new supply eliminates the pumps, water purification equipment, and water tower thereby reducing maintenance costs.
1982
The Masonic Health Care Center, an 84 bed skilled nursing facility, opens
The Wisconsin Masonic Benevolent Activities Board (WMBAB) is formed by Grand Lodge to coordinate various charitable activities, including the Wisconsin Masonic Home.
1983
The old Hospital is remodeled into office space. The Grand Lodge moves their offices from Milwaukee to the Home.
